Visit by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia
The Government of the Republic of Slovenia concluded yesterday’s visit to Dolenjska (Lower Carniola) and Bela krajina (White Carniola) at the Development Centre Novo mesto with a consultation involving mayors and representatives of the business community, at which current issues affecting the local economy were highlighted. Earlier, the Development Centre Novo mesto, together with the Rudolfovo Institute and the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) Future Paths, hosted Tanja Fajon, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, and Dr Aleksander Jevšek, Minister of Cohesion and Regional Development; Rudolfovo was also visited by Dr Igor Papič, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.
Marko Vukobrat, Director of EGTC Future Paths, presented to the ministers the vision and efforts to modernise the Ljubljana–Novo mesto–Karlovac–Zagreb railway corridor, and informed them about project activities relating to infrastructure, the development of multimodal hubs, cross-border management of the regional railway, and the technologies that the grouping aims to implement along the corridor. The objective is to facilitate access to public passenger transport and thereby contribute to the development of an infrastructure-deprived region and border problem areas.
